Configuration Notifications & Project Watchers

Generating a configuration (a house configuration or a block/internal configuration) runs as a background job. Instead of polling the queue, Alpha now notifies the people who care when work is requested and when it finishes.

Notifications are delivered through the usual channels — the in-app notification bell, and (depending on each user's notification settings) email and push.

Who gets notified

The requester

When you request a block configuration or an internal configuration, you receive a "Your configuration is ready" notification the moment the job finishes processing. The notification links straight to the finished configuration.

Configurations submitted by buyers through the public configurator do not trigger a requester notification — those are anonymous (there is no internal user to notify).

Project watchers

Each project has a list of watchers — internal users who should follow configuration activity for that project. Watchers are notified:

  • when a new configuration is requested for the project (house, block, or internal), and
  • when a configuration finishes processing.

If a watcher is also the requester, they are not notified twice — the requester notification takes precedence.

Managing project watchers

  1. Open the project in Construction → Projects → [project].
  2. Switch the editor to the Project (info) tab.
  3. Find the Project watchers card.
  4. Use the multi-select to add or remove users. Changes save automatically.

Watchers can be anyone in your organisation. Add a sales manager to follow incoming buyer requests, or add a drawing-team lead to know the instant a block configuration is ready for review.
