Design multi-room layouts in 2D and 3D, import a floor plan (PDF, image or DXF/DWG) to trace over, draw and label rooms, place catalog products or event furniture with smart snapping, and get a running price list

Interieurconfigurator

The interieurconfigurator lets you design the layout of one or more rooms, such as badkamers, keukens (roadmap) and complete evenementruimtes, the way sanitair configurators like Saninet do: define the room shapes, drop in products from your catalog or quick presets, arrange them with smart snapping, and read the price as you go. Designs switch instantly between a 2D plattegrond for precise placement and a 3D view for spatial review.

The module lives under Construction → Interior Designs and requires interior permissions (READ_INTERIORS and friends). It is available to tenants with the configurator scope or the standalone interiors scope; the latter gives a tenant (for example an event-planning business) only the interior designer, without the rest of the construction suite.

Rooms

A design holds any number of labeled rooms. The left panel lists them with their floor area; click a room to make it active (its name, ceiling, colors and shape bind to the properties panel), and use the icons to duplicate a room with everything in it or delete it (its elements go with it; the last room can't be removed).

Rooms are created three ways:

  • From the create dialog: a rectangle (width × depth × ceiling height). Choosing Evenementruimte starts you off with a hall-sized 12×8 m room with a 4 m ceiling.
  • With the + button in the room list: a default room is placed next to the existing layout.
  • By drawing: switch to Tekenen mode and click corners on the canvas (typically over an imported plattegrond). Clicks snap orthogonally to the previous corner and quantize to 10 mm (hold Alt to draw freely); click the first corner again or press Enter to close the polygon, Esc to cancel.

Room labels (name + m²) render on the 2D plan at each room's centroid.

Floor plan underlay (plattegrond)

Import a real floor plan to trace rooms over, from the Plattegrond panel or directly in the create dialog:

  • PDF: pick a page; it is rendered to a crisp image in the browser (the original PDF stays attached as source).
  • Afbeelding: PNG, JPG or WebP, used as-is.
  • DXF / DWG: the CAD file is stored as-is and drawn as vector lines, with per-layer visibility toggles. DWG converts in the browser on load.

After importing, kalibreer the scale: click two points with a known real-world distance (a door width, a wall length) and type the distance in millimeters. Recalibrating refines the scale rather than resetting it. The underlay can be moved, rotated, faded, locked and hidden; it shows dimmed in the 3D view and everything you draw on top is stored in real millimeters.

Room shape

  • Switch the editor to Ruimtevorm mode to reshape any room's floor in the 2D view (handles show on every room; the active room is highlighted).
  • Drag a whole wall by its blue band to make the room wider or deeper: both of that wall's corners move together perpendicular to it, so the neighbouring walls stretch and the rest of the room stays put. A wall that is a fraction of a degree off square stays locked to its axis; hold Alt for a free perpendicular move.
  • Drag the white corner handles to move single corners.
  • Click the green midpoint ring on any wall to split it into two; that is how you carve out nissen (nooks) and build L-shaped rooms.
  • Corner dragging snaps to the neighbouring corners' axes so walls stay orthogonal (hold Alt to move freely), and coordinates can also be typed in millimeters.
  • Ramen are added per wall from the room panel: choose the type (vast raam, draaikiep or schuifpui), the position along the wall, and free dimensions: width, height and borstwering (sill height, 0 for floor-to-ceiling puien). The 3D view cuts a real opening with a glazed, framed window; the 2D plan marks the window span on the wall.
  • Schuine daken (sloped ceilings) attach to a wall of the active room and are dialed in with two measurable heights: the hoogte laag (knee, at the wall) and the hoogte hoog (at the high side, leave empty for the ceiling), plus the horizontal depth. The resulting slope angle is shown live. The 3D view renders the sloped plane and the wall itself drops to knee height. Each slope can carry dakramen (roof windows) placed by position along the wall and distance up the slope, with free dimensions.
  • Floor and wall colors can be set per room.

Placing elements

Elements come from two sources in the left panel:

  • Snel toevoegen: preset groups per template: Sanitair (ligbad, douche, wastafel, toilet, radiator, spiegel, badmeubel), Keuken, and Evenement (tafel, statafel, stoel, bar, podium, dansvloer, decoratie). The design's own group is expanded first.
  • Catalogus: your product catalog. Products with a GLB asset show a 3D badge and render as their real model in the 3D view (normalized to the product's footprint); products without a model render as a parametric stand-in. Product dimensions and price carry over automatically.

New elements land in the active room, and the placed-elements list groups them per room. Dragging an element into another room re-homes it there automatically.

Every element has a placement mode that drives how it moves:

  • Tegen wand (wastafels, toiletten, radiatoren, spiegels): the element clamps flush against the nearest wall of the room under the cursor, rotates to face into the room, and slides along the wall. While sliding it snaps to the edges and centers of other elements on the same wall.
  • Vrij (baden, tafels, podia, meubels): the element moves freely with per-axis alignment snapping against other elements and walls, falling back to the snap grid (10/50/100 mm, configurable).

Selection works per element, additively with Shift, or by dragging a marquee over the plan; multi-selections move together. R rotates free elements in 90° steps, Delete removes the selection, Ctrl+Z undoes. Hold Alt to bypass all snapping for millimeter-free placement.

Maatvoering

With Maatvoering enabled the 2D plan continuously shows:

  • every wall length of the active room in millimeters on dimension lines outside the room;
  • for the selected element: live distances from its footprint to the nearest wall of its own room on all four sides, plus its own size: the numbers you need to verify installation clearances.

Price list

The right panel keeps a running prijslijst: every placed element with a linked catalog product contributes its price, unpriced elements are counted separately, and the total updates as you design. This gives an early cost indication before a formal offerte.

Views and render mode

  • 2D: top-down orthographic plan over the whole layout with scroll-to-zoom toward the cursor and middle-mouse panning; this is where all editing happens.
  • 3D: free orbit view. Walls between the camera and the rooms hide themselves automatically so the interiors stay visible from any angle.
  • Render modus (the sparkle toggle) switches from flat draft lighting to shadow-casting lights with an environment map for presentation screenshots.

Event layouts

Event businesses use the same editor to plan venue layouts: import the venue's floor plan, trace the zaal and side rooms, and lay out tafels, bars, podia and dansvloeren, with real dimensions and walking clearances visible at every step. Combined with the standalone interiors tenant scope this works without any of the construction modules.

Kitchens

The data model and presets already reserve space for keuken elements (keukenblokken, apparatuur); a dedicated kitchen configurator will build on the same room editor in a later release.
