Unsubscribes

The tenant-wide email unsubscribe (suppression) list

Unsubscribes

The Communications > Unsubscribes page manages a tenant-wide list of email addresses that should no longer receive marketing and funnel emails: brochure emails, reminder funnels, and other automated sends. It is a single suppression list scoped to your tenant.

How addresses get on the list

An address ends up on the unsubscribe list in one of two ways:

  • Self-service: every brochure email includes an unsubscribe link in its footer. When a recipient clicks it, they are added to the list automatically. These rows show the source Unsubscribed via link.
  • Manual: you can add an address yourself from the Unsubscribes page (for example when someone asks to be removed by phone or email). These rows show the source Manual.

The unsubscribe link is per-recipient and single-use on the token, but the resulting suppression is permanent until you remove the address. A recipient does not need an account to unsubscribe; the link works from the email itself.

What suppression affects

While an address is on the list:

  • Brochure emails are skipped: the brochure request is still recorded, but no email is sent.
  • Reminder funnels skip the recipient for every trigger type.

The check is case-insensitive, so Foo@Bar.nl and foo@bar.nl are treated as the same address.

Managing the list

On the Unsubscribes page you can:

  • Add an address to suppress it immediately.
  • Remove an address to re-enable emails to it (for example if it was added by mistake).

Each row shows the address, its source (manual or self-service), an optional reason, and the date it was added.

Removing an address re-enables all funnel and brochure emails to it. Only do this when you have confirmation that the recipient wants to receive emails again.

Custom landing page (redirect)

By default, someone who clicks an unsubscribe link sees Alpha's built-in confirmation page. You can instead redirect them to a page on your own website (for example a branded "sorry to see you go" page):

  1. Go to Communications → Settings
  2. Fill in Unsubscribe redirect (URL) with the full address, e.g. https://yourwebsite.com/unsubscribed
  3. Save

The unsubscribe itself is always processed first; the redirect only changes what the recipient sees afterwards. Leave the field empty to keep the default confirmation page. Only absolute http(s) URLs are accepted.
