Composing Emails
Send ad-hoc emails and replies directly from CRM records
Composing Emails
Emails are composed from the record they relate to. Lead, opportunity, and customer detail pages each have a Communications section showing the email history for that record, with a compose drawer for sending new messages.
Sending an Email
- Open a lead, opportunity, or customer detail page
- In the Communications section, click Send Email
- Add one or more recipients in the To field (separate multiple addresses with commas)
- Optionally expand CC / BCC using the chevron on the To field
- Enter the subject line
- Write the email body using the rich text editor
- Click Send
An email requires at least one recipient and a subject before it can be sent.
Replying
Inbound emails in a record's Communications list show a Reply button. Replying opens the same compose drawer prefilled with:
- The original sender as the recipient
- The subject prefixed with
Re: - The original message quoted below the cursor
Recipient Fields
| Field | Purpose |
|---|---|
| To | Primary recipients |
| CC | Carbon copy -- visible to all recipients |
| BCC | Blind carbon copy -- hidden from other recipients |
Tracking and Record Linking
Emails sent from a record are automatically:
- Tracked — open tracking and link tracking are enabled
- Linked to the record they were sent from, so they appear in that record's Communications list
- Logged in Sent Emails
