Camera controls, selection, and keyboard shortcuts in the 3D project editor

How to move the camera and select things in the project editor's 3D design view.

Camera Modes

The viewer has three camera modes, switched from the floating toolbar:

Orbit (default)Rotate around a target point — best for site overview and editing
WalkFirst-person walking at ground level, with optional head bob
FlyFree first-person flight, including vertical movement

Walk and fly mode capture the mouse pointer (click the canvas to capture it; press Esc to release and return to orbit mode). The toolbar also has a Reset Camera button to return to the default view.

An axis gizmo in the bottom-right corner shows the camera orientation; click an axis to snap the camera to that direction.

Selection

Esc steps the selection back one level: multi-selection → selected house → selected block → nothing.

Editing Shortcuts

While drawing a plot or gallery, or measuring:
