Recovering and resetting your Alpha Platform password

Password Reset

Forgot your password? Follow this guide to reset it and regain access.

Reset Process Overview

Step-by-Step Reset

Step 1: Access Reset Page

  1. Go to your organization's login page
  2. Click Forgot Password? below the sign-in form
  3. Or navigate directly to /forgot-password

Step 2: Enter Email

  1. Enter the email address associated with your account
  2. Click Send Reset Link
  3. You'll see a confirmation message

For security, the same message appears whether or not the email exists in the system.

Step 3: Check Email

  1. Open your email inbox
  2. Look for email from Alpha Platform
  3. Subject: "Reset your Alpha Platform password"
  4. Check spam/junk folder if not found
  1. Open the email
  2. Click Reset Password
  3. Link opens in your browser
  4. You'll see the new password form

Step 5: Create New Password

Enter your new password meeting these requirements:

  1. Enter new password
  2. Confirm by entering again
  3. Click Reset Password

Step 6: Sign In

  1. You'll see a success message
  2. Click Sign In
  3. Use your new password
  4. Access is restored

Reset links expire after 1 hour. Request a new one if expired.

Troubleshooting

Email Not Received

If you don't receive the reset email:

  1. Wait a few minutes - Delivery may be delayed
  2. Check spam folder - May be filtered
  3. Verify email - Ensure correct spelling
  4. Try again - Request another reset
  5. Contact admin - Email may be blocked

If the reset link has expired:

  1. Return to the login page
  2. Click Forgot Password? again
  3. Request a new reset link
  4. Use it within 1 hour

Each reset link works once only:

  1. If you already reset, try signing in
  2. If reset failed, request new link
  3. Don't reuse old email links

Invalid Password Error

If your new password is rejected:

  1. Ensure it meets all requirements
  2. Avoid common passwords
  3. Don't reuse recent passwords
  4. Try a longer, more complex password

Account Locked

If account remains locked after reset:

  1. Wait 15 minutes
  2. Try signing in again
  3. If still locked, contact administrator

Security Recommendations

After Resetting

  1. Sign out other sessions - Go to Profile > Security > Sessions
  2. Review account activity - Check for unauthorized access
  3. Enable passkey - More secure than passwords
  4. Update password manager - Store new password securely

If You Didn't Request Reset

If you received a reset email but didn't request it:

  1. Do not click the link
  2. Check your account - Sign in with current password
  3. Review activity - Look for suspicious access
  4. Change password - If concerned about security
  5. Report to admin - May indicate attempted breach

Alternative Recovery

If password reset isn't working:

Use Alternative Sign-In

  • Magic Link - If enabled, sign in via email link
  • OAuth - If linked, use Google sign-in
  • Passkey - If registered, use biometric

Contact Administrator

If no alternatives work:

  1. Contact your system administrator
  2. Provide verification of identity
  3. Admin can reset password directly
  4. Admin can send new invitation
