Managing multiple business entities

Subsidiary Management

Configure and manage multiple business entities within Alpha.

What are Subsidiaries?

Subsidiaries represent separate business entities:

  • Different legal entities
  • Different countries
  • Different brands
  • Different divisions

Subsidiary Configuration

Creating Subsidiaries

  1. Go to Administration > Subsidiaries
  2. Click Add Subsidiary
  3. Enter details:

User Access

Users can be granted access to specific subsidiaries to control which business entities they can work with.

Access Levels

LevelDescription
Single SubsidiaryAccess to one specific entity
Multiple SubsidiariesAccess to selected entities
Full AccessAccess to all subsidiaries

Access Inheritance

Subsidiary access follows the organizational hierarchy:

Parent Company (access granted here)
├── Division A (inherited automatically)
│   └── Branch 1 (inherited automatically)
└── Division B (inherited automatically)

Access to a parent subsidiary automatically grants access to all its children. See Access Control for complete details.

Managing Subsidiary Users

To manage which users have access to a subsidiary:

  1. Go to Administration > Subsidiaries
  2. Open the subsidiary
  3. Click Manage Users
  4. Add or remove user access
  5. Save

Switching Context

Users with access to multiple subsidiaries:

  1. Click the subsidiary selector in the header
  2. Choose the subsidiary to work in
  3. Interface switches to that context

Cross-Subsidiary Operations

Stock Transfers

Move between subsidiaries:

  1. Create inter-company transfer
  2. Pricing applied
  3. Separate transactions recorded

Reporting

Consolidate data:

  • Per subsidiary
  • Combined reports
  • Intercompany elimination
